I don’t think it is the very first one I heard, but it is the first that I associated with the genre J-Rock and the song that got me into it: 1/3の純情な感情 by SIAM SHADE.
(and no, I will not post the song, video, pictures or any links, because frankly, I am a bit sick of that being the only thing I see associated with SIAM SHADE recently, and certainly am sick of all the covers. At least FLOW had Daita as a guest guitarist (and he helped with their arrangement) but seriously… Though I will be screaming as loud as everyone else when SIAM SHADE plays it on the 21st in Saitama.)
30-Day J-Rock Challenge: Day 10
(Sorry it has been so long, but I think I am back…)
Day 10: How You Got Into J-Rock
Yup. You guessed it. SIAM SHADE.
I think I mentioned it earlier, but I had a friend who made me a CD of the Kenshin themes. And a certain theme caught my attention. Once I started seeking out all the SIAM SHADE music, I then naturally started seeking out other J-Rock music… and became hooked.

Day 9: Your Favourite J-Rock Performance
Sorry I’m a couple of days behind. RL has been as bit rough. But here we are again…
And, guess who once more:
SIAM SHADE - Otokogi (This particular song is Allergy)
Amazing raw and gritty performance. A true hard and punk live and I love it. And damn, Hideki is so purely hot in this. I would love to just towel him down and help him shower off…

Day 7: A J-Rock Song That Makes You Cry
SIAM SHADE - LOVE
Back to SIAM SHADE again. XD And this version especially. This song was written as a thank you to the fans, and this concert was their official farewell concert. (They did two more concerts after, but those were technically after they had officially disbanded - encore concerts, if you will) This song was the final encore of the Live. I cry with Hideki every time I watch this, and I cry listening to the song.
30-Day J-Rock Challenge: Day 6
Day 6: Your Favourite J-Rock Video
I had to narrow this down. I love most of FLOW’s fun PVs and love watching Hideki in any SIAM SHADE PV, but I think Acid Black Cherry - 20+∞ Century Boys is my favourite video. So funny.
Here’s the link of where I posted the video earlier:
On May 3rd 2011, Kawamura Ryuichi was finally able to challenge his Guinness Book World Record try to sing 100 songs in about 6.5 hours at Nippon Budokan.
With the happenings succeeding the Tohoku Earthquake Kawamura had to postpone his performance “KAWAMURA RYUICHI at Nippon Budokan “Genkai no…

Day 5 - Your Favourite J-Rock Song
SIAM SHADE - CALLING
I contemplated for awhile on this one, because I have several favourites from different bands. But I love this song.
And it’s the Live, so you can hear Hideki mess up the lyrics, as he is known to do. (One of the many foibles I love about him.)
DETROX - flashback
One of my favourite DETROX songs.
30-Day J-Rock Challenge: Day 4
Day 4: Most Underrated J-Rock Group
DETROX
Most under-appreciated and under-rated J-Rock Group. They are an amzing blend of industrial, rock and punk. And I love them!
If you haven’t listened to them, you should.
30-Day J-Rock Challenge: Day 3
Day 3: The Most Overrated J-Rock Band
Now I know I am entering dangerous territory here…
But I would have to say that the Most Overrated Band is L’Arc-en-Ciel. Most of their music just sounds like a cacaphony of sounds to me. It almost sounds like they are playing four different songs at the same time.
I honestly don’t understand how they are so popular.
And don’t get me wrong. I think they are talented individuals seperately, but together… not so much.
But as I said in the previous day: Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
A place for everything in my J-Rock obsessions (SIAM SHADE, FLOW, HIDEKI, DETROX, LUNA SEA et c.) including lyrics, pictures, reviews, and just general fan-girl-ing.
